Democrat Zen riddle
In a state of election oddities, Florida Democrats now face a Zen-like riddle: How does a campaign campaign without campaigning?
If you're a Hillary Clinton supporter, you host ''potluck campaign'' events where one person brings a sign while another sends out blast e-mails. John Edwards' happy few find the occasional street corner for honk-and-waves. And Barack Obama backers reach for the cardboard, scissors and tape to assemble a life-size Barack for parades and grip-and-grins where people line up to pose with the ``candidate.''
''I can't tell you how many people lined up to have their picture taken with a piece of cardboard,'' said Dave Patlak, an Obama volunteer in Miami-Dade County.
If it sounds weird, it is. After all, this is Florida, land of the butterfly ballot and electronic votes that seem to vanish.
