Dean gives Florida (finally!) a wink and a nod

After months of insisting that Florida delegates will not be welcome at the Democratic nominating convention because the state's early primary crashed the national party's calendar, DNC Chairman Howard Dean suggested a way out on CNN tonight.

MIchigan was also stripped of its delegates, and Dean suggested both states will try to get them back by appealing to a committee of party insiders that decides who gets credentials to the convention.

"At the end of the day we want a unified party, including Florida and Michigan,” Dean said.

Dean raised about $18,000 for the party last night at a reception in Miami Beach with newly elected Mayor Mattie Herrera Bower.
