Jeb writes check to McCain

Who says conservatives don't like Republican John McCain?

None other than former Gov. Jeb Bush, a darling of the party's conservative wing, recently wrote the presidential candidate a check, according to a McCain source.

In a sign of McCain's shaky standing with conservatives, bloggers at yesterday's gathering of the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington say attendees were instructed not to boo the Arizona senator. Some did anyway when he talked about immigration reform. (Bush has sided with McCain on legislation that would allow illegal immigrants to work toward citizenship.)

McCain's olive branch of a speech to CPAC is here.

Update: Bush says in an e-mail: "Yes I wrote a check. Yes I support him."
