Senators debate a statement of "Truck-E-Ness"

Truck_nutz2 This session we’ve heard about bills related to the right to bear arms to work…but what about the right to bear “truck nutz” on your bumper?

State senators mulled over this pressing issue Wednesday afternoon on the senate floor, after Sen. Carey Baker, a Eustis Republican, proposed a $60 fine for vehicles that have the popular anatomical figures on display. The proposal was an amendment to a larger bill dealing with transportation issues.

His proposal  was met with resistance from Sen. Jim King, a Jacksonville Republican, who said, “it’s a statement of  ‘truck-e-ness’, my Suburban has them.”

Sen. Evelyn Lynn, also objected to the bill- "this seems to be a morality ticket, it doesn’t seem germane"

Baker responded:"I guess, morality like prostitution...we apply the same community standards to strip joints."

After a roughly 20 minute discussion the "truck nutz" measured was TP'd or postponed.
