Obama's camp: 50-50 split is a fair deal
With Michigan delivering Hillary Clinton's camp another blow by scrapping a presidential do-over, Barack Obama's campaign manager says a 50/50 split of the delegates is an "eminently fair solution, especially since originally Senator Clinton herself said the Michigan primary wouldn't 'count for anything.'
"It's now up to the Clinton campaign: they can agree to a fair resolution or they can continue trying to score political points and change the rules," said David Plouffe. "It's time to move forward. Senator Clinton should accept an equitable solution that allows Michigan to participate fully in the convention."
Clinton's campaign, though, isn't backing off its "count all the delegates" stance. Earlier today, campaign spokesman Phil Singer said "close to 600,000 Michiganians (Editor's note: Isn't in Michiganders? Any transplants out there?) cast ballots in January and these votes cannot be ignored."

I'm from Michigan and yes, it's Michiganders. By the way, most of us here in Michigan are unimpressed with Clinton's tactics. They are blatantly obvious and disdainful.

I from Michigan and I can tell you most of us in Michigan minus Mom of 3 who we all know is an Obama person pretending that they are a mother, we know the Hillary understand Detroit and the rest of state. We will not play with Obama's game of ignoring us and just because Mr. Obama is biracial we still understand what racism, sexism and antisemetic sentiments are. We are northerners and we get and Obama mama of three, stop kidding the readers and the voters. Enough is enough

Obama you have to be kidding, you did not win 50/50. You are a joke our voting rights are not.

I live in Michigan, I totally disagree with Clinton tactics, she agreed from the beginning that our state wouldn't count, just as Fl, because our officials had changed the dates of our primary, she knew it from the start and agreed to that, now that she began to lose she wants to change the rules and is lobbying for our state, I disagree, Obama's name was not even on the ballot, just as Edwards'name.
A 50/50 share is a fair proposition, period !

I am from Wisconsin and I think you Michiganders are stupid.....Your Detroit Mayor is immoral and you people voted for him. Your Senator has her problems too.
You guys want to put yourselves out there and do things against the rules and so, you are now paying the price. If you were truly honest you should have held your democrat leaders to the rules. Dont blame anyone but yourselves, you the voters. You need to put these crazy politicians in Michigan out of office.
Get back to doing what Michigan was always a leader on and that is being honest, steadfast and resolute, but in a way that was within the rules. Get rid of your politicians that lied to you.
Split the vote and be happy. Clinton will only use you like your other politicians are...
Good Luck

assigning voter preference to Michigan's Democrats is contempt for the will of the people. MI doesn't want tickets to the big party in Denver they want their vote to count.
The DNC did not request or command Obama to remove his name from the Michigan ballot. MI party officials "begged" him not to do so as he would be telling MI voters that they don't count. Still Obama removed his name to court Party Leaders in Iowa. This gamble paid off. It's Obama's own fault he was not on the ballot.
Seat Michigan as is.

Florida and Michigan officials did what they did knowing they would not be seated.
Why are we even having any discussion?
I don't think it was a wise standoff, but it happened, so let's live with it. These voters are not cut out of presidential election. And isn't the point to win the presidency? Why screw that up with hard feelings that can hurt the big race? I don't get why this is even dragging on. Foolish.

I am sorry to hear there is not a re-vote. Now there is no possible solution that is fair to everyone. 50-50 does not represent a real vote but neither does 55-Clinton and 40- Uncommitted. Unlike Fla. there was low turnout in Michigan --apparently there was not a popular referendum on the ballot there to draw people out to vote when they were told their vote would not count. It really seems like some serious hypocrisy to only start to care about this when you're down in the delegate count.

Yep, its Machiganders?
1) Every candidate signed a PLEDGE stating that they would not campaign in Fla and MI and that votes would not count sometime in October. It was okay with all of them that delegates would not be seated.
2) After the February Primaries one candidate decides to stir the pot because they would like more pledged delegates and more popular votes.
3) The candidate in the second position uses a forbidden word to heighten voters anger "disenfranchised". and yes this person know shat words mean. The Two Candidates understood the rules when they agreed to the process. Presidents should be able to follow the rules.
4) Excuse me I had to duck to avoid the incoming sniper fire coming from my window. (Oh, by the way that little girl read a wonderful poem, the first line read "Now that there is Peace in Bosnia....)
5) Meanwhile, this candidate has a hearing scheduled just 3 days after the Pennsylvania Primary to set a trial date for a Campaign Finance/Fraud case in Hollywood CA that she has not disclosed to the public (www.lasuperiorcourt.org, Civil Case Summaries, enter case number BC304174) from reporting errors and questionable testimony (I mean misspoken testimony).
6) AND while she campaigns on her distaste with NAFTA and Americans doing business over seas to hard working struggling Blue Collar Voters, Her lead campaign strategist is having meetings with the Governmnent of Columbia for a trade deal and working to get the Blackwater mercinaries contract renewed with total immunity for killing Iraqi civilians, and said candidate's husband is makeing millions (15 to be exact) with partners in a Cayman Islands company and who's business partners are the Crown Prince of Dubai, and the Chinese Government for Uranium Mines.
7) This experienced candidate has to make over 2 million dollars in chargebacks because campaign workers double charged many donors credit cards and it took a month for overcharges to show up on credit card statements.
8) Said candidate also is preports getting health insurance for every american (and if you don't participate and pay for it, they will, fine you AND garnish your wages), BUT they have difficulty making health insurance payments for staff on time. Payments to Aetha were not paid for 60 days. (Maybe that last 3 am call is a staffer at Emergence when the insurance card doesn't work)
8) When this loosing candidate gets caught in a lie, she doesn't make a speech, apologize or even go on a real news show to answer questions, she goes on late night TV and makes a joke about it.
To sum all of that up, Sen Clinton should take whatever she gets.

Obama was not required to remove his name from the ballot. He did so because Michigan was a state that favored Clinton. He knew that ultimately they would seat the delegates and this way a ploy to try to take more of those delegates then he deserved. He has wanted a 50/50 split from the beginning and has refused any other plan. 50/50 is the same as not seating the delegates. This man is a master of misleading people and using people to accomplish his intended outcome.
If he steals this nomination with his connections and his lies, the Republican party will make sure everyone knows the truth about this man and McCain will take the election.
A vote for Obama is a vote for McCain.
Our country is in such a dire state and the best hope we have to actually fix our economy and turn this country around is Hillary Clinton. We can not afford to take a risk on someone we know so little about, especially since what we do know offers more questions that answers.
A vote for Hillary Clinton is a vote for a better America.
