Poll: McCain trounces Obama in Florida
A new poll out today suggests John McCain would easily take Florida if he was running against Barack Obama.
The Quinnipiac University poll shows Hillary Clinton beating McCain in a too-close-to-call race, 44 percent to 42 percent. But in a general election match-up, the poll shows McCain would "handily defeat" Obama, 46 percent to 37 percent.
"The difference between Clinton and Obama is the white vote," said Peter Brown, assistant director of the university's polling institute. He noted that Obama loses almost two to one to McCain among white voters, 54 to 27 percent.
Florida voters put the economy at the top of their issue list, followed by Iraq and health care.

Same politics as usual?
It very well may be possible that he may NOT be the candidate of change when you consider his longstanding and close personal attachments to the indicted and currently Jailed Illinois influence peddler - Tony Rezko.
This incarcerated man, that financed and bankrolled Sen. Obama, had for many years been a well known corrupt influence peddler throughout Illinois.
Sen. Obama said in the debate that he was a Junior Partner who worked five hours for this client. (what was he hiding back then)
Was he naive and just thought that this slime ball was buying the lot next to his out of the sheer goodness of his heart? It’s been reported, Sen. Obama received a $300,000.00 windfall because of his Rezco connection. At first Sen. Obama said he received 80k from Rezco and then it was 150K and then it was 250K. hmmm?
Or did he know he would owe something in return to this guy? What was he thinking when ReZCO sponsored his first huge fundraiser, the one that got his original Senatorial campaign started. This would be interesting and you know the Republicans are going to be digging and slinging the mud for answers. Slimey.
Sen. Obama should have shown at least some Judgment? “But, he (rezco) never asked me (Obama) for anything”.

Hillary Clinton is the stronger candidate and is more qualified to win the election against McCain.

Intersting, Obama leads against Hilary but not McCain. Now the democratic party is backpeddling on seating Florida Delegates at the convention. Looks like they need to count Florida to have a chance to win.

The author [greg] is most naive. Has he never heard of Keating and his relationship to McCain? What about Bush/Cheney and Haliburton? What about Clinton and Mark Rich?
Does anyone really believe that ANY US politician has a squeaky clean record regarding contributions over the course of their political life? Of course NOT because the people who give the most have the most to gain by giving. How much did you give to any politician over the past 10 years? Would it pay for a tank of gas today?
I am a white, middle-aged male who WILL vote for Obama because I am deeply concerned about the deplorable condition of the nation following 8 years of Bush/Cheney. Though I like HRC, I believe Obama is more likely to obtain the consensus necessary to implement REAL change. If the status quo prevails, we might as well start getting used to calling ourselves citizens of a third-world nation.

I'm a Floridian but I'm incredibly embarrased to admit this if you're telling me that in Florida the economy, Iraq, and healthcare are the MAIN issues Florida voters are concerned about AND yet they plan to vote for MCCAIN OVER OBAMA. Are these people so stupid that they would vote for a candidate that has absolutely NO POLICY for the economy or healthcare AND his policy in Iraq is to "stay the course". If this is true, then Floridians deserve anything and everything they get.
And as for Senator OBAMA... almost every post here mentions idiotic statements about Rezko and other nonsense that has ABSOLUTLELY nothing to do with Senator Obama, yet these people mention these things as a DEFENSE as to why they would choose Senator McCain over Senator Obama when that makes NO SENSE AT ALL!!! NO WONDER FLORIDA IS A MESS!!!

As for seating Florida Delegates.... It is all nonsense that a bunch of political folks care about. Most Democratic Voters knew or should have known when we went to the Polls on Jan. 29, 2008 that our votes wouldn't count in the PRIMARY. Now Senator Clinton, because she's losing wants to count votes that meant nothing in the scheme of things because Senator Obama and no other Democrat was able to campaign in Florida..... so where is the FAIRNESS in that? There is no fairness, which shouldn't shock me in FLORIDA... Remember 2000????? IDIOTS

any candidate that left their names on the ballot in florida obveously wanted the votes to count...Hillary did then and does now

florida and michigan are Hillary states...they were then and are now...those votes would put her in the lead, and would have been in the lead then.
