Another of Rubio's 100 Ideas approved: Children's Zone for Miami

Rep. Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall, a Miami Democrat, was swaying in the aisles along with other  happily dancing Democrats after the House approved a measure calling for the creation of a Magic City Children's Zone in Liberty City.

The zone, part of House Speaker Marco Rubio's "100 Ideas", is now off to Gov. Charlie Crist for approval after passing in the Senate last week.

Sponsored in the House by Bendross-Mindingall, and in the Senate by Sen. Larcenia Bullard, a Miami Democrat, the proposal provides for $3.6 million in funding for the creation of a pilot program aimed at increasing graduation rates and decreasing crime among inner city youths.
