Bush 'pioneer' in FL charged with insider trading

Bod_zacharia Zachariah Zachariah, the Fort Lauderdale cardiologist and top Republican donor named a "pioneer" for raising at least $100,000 for President Bush in 2004, has been charged with illegally trading IVAX Corp. securities.

More recently, he's backed loser candidates -- Tom Gallagher in the 2006 governor's race and Fred Thompson in the 2007 Republican presidential primary. Zachariah also serves on the Florida Board of Governors and on the board of former Gov. Jeb Bush's educational foundation, the Foundation for Florida's Future.
