Clinton still can't get there from here without FL

Down but not quite out, Democrat Hillary Clinton's campaign this morning outlined three paths to the nomination --  and two of them go through Florida.

Spokesman Howard Wolfson said she needs to "do well" in the upcoming  contests, convince superdelegates that her victories in big, battleground states -- like Florida -- make her the stronger nominee, and ensure that Florida and Michigan delegates go to the convention.

"This is not going to be in our opinion a convention of 48 state delegations. It will be a convention of 50 state delegations,'' Wolfson said. "We won significant victories in both Florida and Michigan, and we believe the delegates from those states should be seated commensurate with the results of those primaries."

The national party committee's rules and bylaws committee (RBC) is slated to meet May 31 to consider appeals from the two states, which forfeited their delegates for voting too early. It's unclear if the Clinton campaign will plead its case at the meeting. But the fact remains that even if the appeals are granted, Clinton would still trail Obama in delegates.

"We expect that RBC will respect, will seat the delegates from those states to ensure the entire country is represented in the nominating process to decide who the standard bearer will be come November,'' Wolfson said.

I AM ALWAYS APPALLED AT PEOPLE WHO CLAIM THEY ARE SO HONEST BUT WILL DO ANYTHING TO WIN. THAT IS WHY I WAS AND STILL IS VERY GLAD THAT GOD ALLOWED THE NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS TO GO UNDEFEATED? AND THEN LOSE IN THE SUPERBOWL. YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW. NOW THAT WAS POETIC JUSTICE. SE NATOR CLINTON KNEW BEFORE THE ELECTION THAT FLORIDA AND MICHIGAN WOULD NOT COUNT. POLITICIANS ABOVE ANYBODY ELSE SHOULD KNOW BETTER THAN TO TRY AND CHANGE THE RULES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GAME. THE PROBLEM THAT FRIGHTENS ME IS THAT SHE HAS SOME MANY OTHER DISHONEST PEOPLE WHO ARE TRYING TO PLAY THE GAME WITH HER. REMEMBER AMERICAN PEOPLE. PEOPLE WHO ARE DISHONEST WITHOUT A LOT OF POWER: BECOME TRULY DISHONEST WITH A LOT OF POWER. THE PROBLEM IS THEN YOU CAN'T STOP THEM OR DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. SOMETHING CALLED DIPLOMATIC IMMUNITY. GIVE ME A BREAK. LET A TRUE HONEST CHAMPION STEP FORWARD. ONE WHO INSPITE OF THE LIES, TRAPS AND SLANDERS STILL HAS MAINTAINED TRUE DIPLOMACY AND HONESTY. YES I'M TALKING ABOUT PRESIDENT OBAMA. A HONEST MAN WHO COULD COME AND HAVE DINNER AT OUR HOUSE ANYTIME, OH YES AND HE COULD ANSWER THAT 3:00 AM TELEPHONE CALL WHILE HE'S THERE. HE'S EARNED THAT PRIVELEDGE.

Hillary, I also supported you, but it is time to get out. All you can do now is divide the party and help McCain get elected. I don't know about you, but it will be unbearable for us all to deal with another 4 years of Bushes policies. We can't stand to keep 150,000 troops in Iraq another 4 years at the cost of trillions, nor can we or should we try to invade Iran. Let's not let McCain be the one with his finger on the "nuclear button." It's not good for America and it's not good for the world. So Hillary, you are still and will continue to have a big influence on American politics and American policies, you are still the Senator from a very large state. I implore you to do the right thing for the people of America and the people of the world. Get out now, and fully endorse and campagin for Obama. That way, we will all still have a chance.

I know many of you Miami's may not understand this but we live in the United States Of America, by UNITED we mean all 50 states and territories, NOT 48 states. The US is a democracy, that means that everyone has a say in choosing our next leader, not just those in states whose leaders followed the rules but each and evrey American needs to be included in the process of selecting our next president. If Illinois had broken the rules Obama would be trying to get their votes counted just the same. You may like or Dislike Hillary but that simply is not the point. In America we have had a recent history of voter disenfranchisement and not including Florida and Michigan in the decision to make what is the most important decision in politics is a miscarriage of justice and democratic principles. I never knew that my vote was contingent upon democratic party leaders following rules that I had nothing to do with.

We have a process in this country for electing our leaders and abandoning that process for expediency is not what America is about. The process should be allowed to run its course and we will have our nominee before the general election. As democrats we cannot critisze Bush for cheating the voters of Florida in 2000 and then turn around and cheat our own candidate in Florida. If you don't like it maybe you should move to Zimbabwe where voting is an excercise in futility.
