McCain won't skip La Raza in 2008

Remember last summer, when all of the major Republican presidential candidates -- including John McCain -- blew off two massive gatherings of Hispanic organizations?

He was a no-show at both the National Council of La Raza in Miami Beach and the National Association of Latino Elected Officials in Orlando.

But yesterday, on Cinco de Mayo, McCain announced he would attend the La Raza conference this year in San Diego "as part of his commitment to talking with all Americans during this presidential campaign."

McCain also launched a Spanish web site yesterday at http://espanol.johnmccain.com that features videos from Florida's Cuban-American elected officials: Sen. Mel Martinez, U.S. Rep. Lincoln Diaz-Balart, U.S. Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart and U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen.

"John McCain has an extraordinary affinity with Hispanics,'' says Lincoln Diaz-Balart in the video. "He has used his political capital on very difficult subjects, including immigration reform, which would help so many Hispanics."

Just remember, La Raza is a left wing Mexican separatist organization. It is NOT representative of the Hispanic community. McCain can go, but he will not be well received.

Here’s a good summary of some reasons to reject McCain and consider supporting Obama.
Worth sharing with anyone you know who’s still undecided. Great article in there about McCain as well.

Tina,

Barack Obama is the most liberal person in Congress right now. We cannot afford his policies that will turn this country into a socialist government. Obama will say anything and promise anything to get elected. His wife who hated this country until her husband had a chance to win the democrat nominationsaid this. " Barack isn't doing this for the power or prestige. " she lost all credibility right there.
