McCain on Spanish radio in Miami
Continuing his outreach to Hispanic voters, Republican presumptive nominee John McCain is up with his second Spanish radio ad of the general election today, featuring another "real'' person in South Florida.
McCain's first spot featured Roberto Martin Perez, a former political prisoner in Cuba. The latest stars well-known economist Tony Villamil, chief executive officer of the Washington Economics Group in Coral Gables, who previously worked as an advisor to former Jeb Bush. Villamil touts McCain's support for a free trade deal with Colombia.
Democrat Barack Obama opposes the agreement and says McCain's trip there this week shows he will continue President Bush's' economic policies. His campaign is also assailing one of McCain's top advisors, Charlie Black, whose lobbying firm represented Occidental Petroleum Corporation, an oil and gas company criticized by human rights and environmental groups.
Story on Black's ties to Colombia is here, and McCain's new radio ad is below.
