Rubios comments to CANF get wide internet distribution

It was a speech of less than five minutes preceeding a high profile address by Barack Obama, but House Speaker Marco Rubio's address to the Cuban American Foundation last month has been making the rounds on the internet. It was picked up by the web site, Babalu, and posted on YouTube -- where it's had over 15,400 views.

"We're told by Babalu and others that the video has 'gone viral' and is being widely circulated on the net to other sites and to emails,'' said Rubio spokeswoman Jill Chamberlin. Here it is:

This speech is hardly original. "Wide internet distribution"...really you are starting to lose any sense of objectivity.

"Gone viral?" 6 comments on 15K views. Sounds like babalu was feeding Rubio the same crap they feed their readers.

To know him...is to love him. Rubio speaks with the heart of a double patriot...an American patriot and as a patriot son of an exiled Cuban. Our nation fought communism openly for decades and now we forget too fast how they robbed a neighbor nation of it's destiny. A Cuban exile said just recently of Americans... Americans take liberty too for granted. It only takes a Castro or a Che tyrant to rob your nation of it's liberty. We wonder why Obama's campaign hangs a Che flag in it's Houston headquarters.

As a registered Democrat who does believe that trade should be liberalized, I must say that this is a very compelling speech. It has me almost convinced on emotion alone to reconsider my views.

It is sad though, how Marco's political career may now be over. I now have a deeper respect for this adversary.

Thank You, Mr. Rubio. Finally someone has had the nerve to stand up and speak so eloquently and passionately about what so many of us feel. It is sad that it was not reported on any television station but it getting around by e-mail. Unfortunately for many, how soon we forget the lessons of the past. Like a college history professor once taught me, " if you do not learn from the past, you will be forced to repeat it." I hope that never happens again...
