Republican Sheriff Al Lamberti is still far ahead of his Democratic opponents in fundraising.
Lamberti has raised about $460,000, according to his finance report submitted today. All the Democrats haven't turned in their reports yet but so far the closest is Scott Israel, chief of North Bay Village, who has raised $180,000. Richard Lemack, assistant city manager of Hollywood, has raised about $148,000.
Since Lamberti doesn't have an opponent in the Aug. 26 primary he can save most of his money for the general election. He has about $390,000 left in the bank.
