Despite having brothers who are the most powerful men in the legislature, two candidates found their pedigrees drew nothing more than a big ptooey from Florida voters.
In Jacksonville, House Speaker Marco Rubio's brother Mario Rubio lost to Lake Ray in the Republican race . Rubio: 27 percent; Ray: 52 percent. Ray is a two-term Jacksonville city councilman and Rubio is a long-time Blue Cross/Blue Shield official.
In the Orlando-area seat held by Rep. Hugh Gibson, Republican Marlene O-Toole defeated Will Pruitt, the younger brother of Senate President Ken Pruitt with 59 percent to 41 percent. O'Toole is a retired IBM executive.

Thank God Marlene won! Will had absolutely nothing to offer.
