Crist, Greer endorsement, "pathetic and embarrassing"

The founder of the Conservative Republican Alliance is bashing Gov. Charlie Crist's decision to step into a contentious GOP primary in Palm Beach County.

Crist Friday endorsed attorney Tom Rooney, who faces two opponents in a bid to knock out freshman Democrat Rep. Tim Mahoney, but Javier Manjarres in a public letter to Crist and party chief Jim Greer questions the move -- aimed at quelling some of the bickering in the primary.

"Now, is this fair to the other two worthy candidates running in the same primary race?" Manjarres writes. "No it isn't. Why would you side with this particular candidate and not with one of the others? Last time I checked, they are also Republican. Is it that they are too Conservative ? Not 'Rino' enough?"

Manjarres also questions why the party hasn't endorsed all the Republican candidates statewide.

"How about a nice pat on the back for Allen West who is running in District 22?  Remember, that other highly contested Congressional seat.  What are you waiting for?  This kind of partisanship against your own party is pathetic and embarrassing."

West is challenging Democratic Rep. Ron Klein, but has gotten little help from national Republicans who were once focused on ousting Klein.

The New Republic recently called West's candidacy, "the GOP's greatest embarrassment of all..."

The article said that West "was on track for a generalship when his unit was assigned in August 2003 to interrogate an Iraqi policeman who had supposedly turned Benedict Arnold. The policeman refused to cooperate, so West dragged him outside, pushed his head into the sand, and fired a gun next to his face to get him to sing. 'I'd do it again if I had to,' West told the New Republic. 'It wasn't torture. Seeing Rosie O'Donnell naked would be torture.' "

Jeb Bush wouldn't act the way Crist is concerning these endorsements. But then Jeb Bush was a class act.

As an aside, the problem with the Army is that there aren't enough Allen Wests. He reminds me of my grandfather fighting in the Pacific 50 years ago.

Bush a class act? More like a class hack. Let's see, first his family tries to smuggle items past customs to avoid paying duty. Then he tries to fire state workers who would not give a Republican politician's mother a free pass to the head of the welfare - food stamp line. Yeah, right that is class isn't it? Crist on the other hand has always been above board and fair with everyone, looking for what's right, not what's political or expedient.

Jeb was the best Governor and leader Florida has ever had. Jeb left this state in great shape and Crist is nothing but a wimp and that's being kind. It's all about him and always must be about him and his buddy Greer who does nothing but carry Crist's bags. Crist let felons vote and extended early voting hours just to name a few things. The peoples governor is a JOKE.

FIRST GOV.CRIST ALLOWED 600,000 FELONS ALLOWED TO VOTE WICH MOST OF THEM WILL VOTE DEMOCRAT!2ND CRIST PUT A LIBERAL ON THE BENCH.THEN CRIST HAD A LOVE FEST WITH OBAMA AND TAKING ALL THAT STIMULOS MONEY ON TV WICH WAS A SMACK IN THE FACE OF US REPUBLICANS!THEN CRIST GAVE US JOHN McCAIN,REMEMBER THAT?!IF I WAS GOV.CRIST I WOULD STAY AS GOV AND PLAY IT SAFE BECAUSE US REPUBLICANS ARE READY TO FOLLOW CRIST ALL THE WAY TO THE BALLOT BOX AND VOTE HIS LIB A_ _ OUT! IF GOV.CRIST RUNS FOR SENATE AND WINS...CRIST WILL BE ANOTHER SPECTOR!!! P.S. REMEMBER THIS IS A REPUBLICAN PRIMARY...ONLY REPUBLICANS VOTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
