DENVER -- Iraq war medic and lifelong Republican Mike Wilson gave brief but powerful remarks as he put Barack Obama's name into nomination.
He told a story of treating a soldier in Iraq who, with four other comrades, had been struck by a suicide bomb. Wilson said the soldier kept asking, "Where are my other guys? Are they okay?'' Only two of the five survived.
"I've seen war up close -- not as a political slogan or some think-tank theory,'' he said. "I support Barack Obama because America needs a president who has the strength, wisdom and courage to talk to our enemies and consult with our allies."
