Sarah Palin's inner liberal
Perhaps Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin is not the rock-ribbed, arch-conservative that she's been made out to be.
In her first and only interview with Spanish-language television, Palin told Univision's Jorge Ramos that she supports a "path to citizenship'' for undocumented workers. Some hardline Republicans deride that approach as "amnesty."
"We secure our borders first,'' Palin said. "But then with a comprehensive approach we must deal humanely with those who are here, and we must allow the steps to be taken to protect the families of those who are here, maybe as illegal immigrants today."
Ramos also asked Palin, whose teenaged daughter is pregnant, if parents should talk about birth control with their children.
"Yes, use me as the example of why you should even more admittedly,'' Palin said. "My daughter, of course, she is 18 years old, but has really been forced to grow up very quickly now and starting her own family and you know, life has changed so quickly for her. And she is a good and responsible and very kind-hearted young. strong woman and she is going to be just fine. But if we can use this, and if my daughter Bristol can use her story as a kind of teaching tool for others, then so be it. Let us do that."

Perhaps Sarah Palin should speak at an ACORN Immigration Reform rally...much like John McCain did back in 2006!
Maybe ACORN will allow a "path to forgiveness" if McCain and Palin call off the attack dogs!
