Scarborough predicts doom; Crist: "This thing" is going to turn around for McCain
Pressed on MSNBC about his popularity and John McCain's sagging numbers in Florida, Gov. Charlie Crist predicted a turnaround for the GOP presidential ticket.
"You and I both know if a Republican is candidate is losing in Florida in October, there are big problems ahead," said Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough.
"I think it's going to be fine," the ever optimistic Crist replied. "I really do. I mean, you know, it's not Election Day. You know, we've got, what, 27 days to go? It's only October the 8th. The election is on November the 4th. And that's the good news. There's plenty of time. There's another debate to go.
"This thing is going to turn around just fine for Senator McCain," Crist said. "I know that Governor Palin really helped the ticket yesterday and on Monday while here in the state, did a great job firing up the base, as we all know, is so important to do. It's all about turn out. You know, a lot of people get caught on polls.
"Floridians love John," Crist said. "They really do."
"Not just enough right now," Scarborough replied.
