Veil lifts slightly behind Miami casino plan

The secretive plans to explore casino gambling for the massive urban renewal project pitched by developers Art Falcone and Marc Roberts became a little clearer Monday when a contribution appeared on the amended report of their political committee.

The Fontainebleau Hotel, on the verge of reopening this month as a major resort destination that offers nearly every amenity but gaming, has formally shown their interest with some campaign cash. This comes after lawyers for the Falcone and Roberts political committee had already drafted proposed constitutional amendment language that would have included the Fontainebleau among the few properties allowed to develop casinos if the effort succeeds.
