Anti-Raul ad makes Washington Post's "best House ads"

One of the national Republican party's attack ads against Raul Martinez makes the Washington Post's list of best House ads in the country.

Says the Post, which singled out the National Republican Congressional Committee's Wheel of Corruption ad: "Granted, the NRCC had lots to work with in their ad campaign against Hialeah, Fla., Mayor Raul Martinez. But, using the 'Wheel of Fortune' theme was a nice touch. Also, does it get any more brutal than this tag line -- punctuated by the sound of a prison cell door slamming? 'We know Martinez is corrupt enough for Washington. But that doesn't mean we should send him there.' "

Strategists suggest the ads worked, tamping down Democratic enthusiasm, particularly in Broward where voters were unfamiliar with the former mayor. See the other Post picks here.
