Crist to attend Schwarzenegger summit this week
Gov. Charlie Crist will be the only Republican of the four governors attending a two climate change summit sponsored by California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in Beverly Hills this week, according to a story today in the LATimes.
Schwarzenegger was a featured guest at both of the high-profile climate change summits held by Crist and it's clear he's now returning the favor. He is scheduled to speak on Wednesday.
"More than 600 environmental officials and activists from Borneo to Bulgaria, along with five U.S. governors and regional politicians from foreign nations, are expected to attend,'' the LATimes reports. "...Schwarzenegger had invited all 49 other U.S. governors, but only four plan to attend part of the conference: Republican Charlie Crist of Florida and Democrats Rod Blagojevich of Illinois, Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas and Jim Doyle of Wisconsin. In addition, seven others have said they will add their names to the declaration.

i would think schwarzenegger is a little busy with the fires to attend, and i believe charlie has a few pressing matters to attend in tallahassee such as the state budget!
climate change is not a pressing matter, but florida's financial difficulties are. seriously, when DOES charlie work? charlie needs to decline the invitation to speak, but he won't as he wants as much national attention as possible for that 2012 run.
