Diaz-Balart camp: "There's only one titan in town"

A victorious Carlos Curbelo, who helped run both Diaz-Balart brothers' campaigns, introduced Lincoln Diaz-Balart at his victory party Tuesday by mocking the Miami Herald for billing the Diaz-Balart vs. Raul Martinez matchup as a clash of political titans.

"There is only one titan, and he is in this room!" Curbelo shouted. Also in the room, contentedly sipping a beer as Diaz-Balart spoke: Bill O'Connell, a retired Hialeah police captain who appeared in a Diaz-Balart TV ad. In the ad, O’Connell accused Martinez of being the "most corrupt politician you will ever see in your life."

"He was a dictator that destroyed a lot of people's lives," O’Connell said of Martinez. "This is justice."

Seems that Carlos Curbelo is a much better campaigner than Arlene DiBenigno and Bettina Inclan.

It seems that the reports of the political deaths of the Diaz-Balart brothers were greatly exaggerated.

If the Diaz-Balarts could not bring home the bacon with Bush in the White house I can't see things getting any better. i guess we will see how much pull they have right away. President Obama is going to lift the restrictions towards Cuba that bush signed in 2004.

Pepe, I don't think Martinez could have done any better to help Lincoln win, unless he had gone out and shot somebody during the campaign. I thought Ana Carbonell was handling Lincoln's campaign while Curbelo handled Mario's? Garcia lost by a 6 point difference to Mario. If I was Crist I would be looking for new advisors. I want to see how well Crist does against Sink for Governor with this Democratic machine that basically handed over the state to Obama.
