GOP activist resigns over e-mail

Well that didn't take long. The Republican Party of Florida just announced that longtime Hillsborough County activist Carol Carter has resigned her position on the executive committee less than 24 hours after a racially charged e-mail became public.

"I appreciate her many notable contributions to our party, but I have no tolerance for this type of action, regardless of the circumstances or intent,'' said GOP Chairman Jim Greer. "It is unfortunate that these types of emails, spread by just a few, distract others and dilute the message of the vast majority of Republicans throughout Florida and across the nation who are working hard to build and grow our party."
