Marco Rubio's turnpike ghost

Count 'em. Not one, but two bid protests for the massive Florida Turnpike concession contract. Both Host International and the lobbied-up International Meal Company say the contract wasn't fairly awarded to Areas.

So expect a two month delay. At least. The contract is already about two years overdue. Wayyyyyy back in 2007 then-House Speaker Marco Rubio inserted special budget language to change the bidding specs to give the little-guy-gas-distributor (e.g., Rubio pal Max Alvarez) and others a shot at the contract. Rubio complained that the contract was geared too much toward a Host-type conglomerate. (More thread here)
