The Florida Department of Law Enforcement provided a copy of the arrest warrant for Shahrukh Dhanji today which provides more details about the charges against the former candidate for Broward sheriff.

Dhanji, a 41-year-old Coconut creek resident, is wanted for official misconduct and violating campaign finance limits -- both felonies -- pus a misdemeanor falsifying a public document.

The arrest warrant was signed Feb. 10 but Dhanji is no where to be found. Dhanji came in last place in a five-way Democratic sheriff primary in August. He was a state human relations commissioner at the time.

According to the arrest warrant, Dhanji or his cohorts gave cash to several people and asked that they write a check to his campaign in return.
