Crist ditches tense Tally for Miami Beach posh

Gov. Charlie Crist, who's facing criticism from Democrats that he spends too much time living the high life away from the Capitol, fled the tense budget climate in Tallahassee this afternoon to pitch his gambling proposal at a Miami elementary school and attend a pro-Israel fundraiser at the swanky Eden Roc hotel in Miami Beach.

Images The fundraiser for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee costs $3,600-per-person to attend the reception and $10,000 for a photo with the governor. For AIPAC, the popular governor is a draw. And for a potential U.S. Senate candidate, it's a nice opportunity for Crist to mingle with wealthy donors and flex his pro-Israel credentials.
