J.D.: 1-800-BYE-GARY

It seems there is no love lost between Sen. J.D. Alexander and Gary Kompothecras (AKA "Dr. Gary" of 1-800-ASK-GARY fame), the wealthy political donor who is pushing controversial changes to childhood vaccine requirements.

And that's bad news for Kompothecras, who isn't likely to see the vaccine bill pass unless Alexander puts it on the agenda one more time in his ways and means committee, which Alexander just said will meet at least once more this session.

Don't expect to see SB242 on the agenda. (The committee ran out of time Tuesday before voting on it)

"We have a lot of bills to work through, and some of them have issues. If I put that bill on, it will take two hours," Alexander said. "And quite frankly, I'm not impressed with Dr. Gary. And I don't like the implication that we're for sale. ...I'm offended by Dr. Gary's comments ...that he thinks his contributions can influence us. He certainly doesn't have access to me."
