Rep. Rouson tries to play the budget game

House Republicans are rounding up support for their budget and when it came time to approach Rep. Darryl Rouson, D-St. Petersburg, he offered a typically blunt reply.

The question was, 'Well, would you vote for the budget?' I said 'Sure.' They said, 'What will it take?' I said, 'What are you offering? I mean if you give me a couple million dollars that I can take back to District 55 … for the people who are starved for services and jobs … heck, I’ll go home and justify to my folks why I did what I did.' But the fact of the matter is they said there isn't any money. It’s a moot issue."

So how will you vote? "At this point, I'm still studying the budget." (audio here)
