With Senate President Jeff Atwater having filed for Chief Financial Officer on Monday, former CFO Chief Tom Gallagher told the Herald/Times that he is not running for CFO, after exploring the possibility for about a week.
"I've made a decision that's not something I want to do,'' he said today. "I woke up and came to my senses.''
Gallagher said that Atwater "will be a good CFO. I like Jeff. Jeff's got a banking background and a legislative background. That's a good combination.''
Had he ever considered getting into the governor's race? "Yeah, I got as many calls for that as I did for CFO but I didn't want to get into that.''
