Brogan for chancellor? We'll know soon...

Florida's state university system will have a new leader named by July 17. Will it be former lieutenant governor and education commissioner Frank Brogan, now president at FAU? He has until the end of this week to turn in his application.

The Board of Governors' chancellor Search Committee will meet via conference call a week from today, on July 13, at 1 p.m. to hear the search consultant's report on candidates for the job. Rumored to be among them, or at least pondering it heavily, is Brogan.

During the conference call, committee members will select candidates to be interviewed Friday, July 17, beginning at 8 a.m. at the Tampa Airport Marriott at the Tampa International Airport.

The search committee will recommend a candidate to the Board of Governors, which will convene at 4 p.m. that day to appoint the new chancellor.
