LeMieux listens and learns

Incoming Florida Sen. George LeMieux said he told a lunch of his new Republican Senate colleagues that he was "honored" to be among them and looking forward to getting to work.

"They were all very gracious," he said of his reception at the party lunch. He noted they dispensed advice freely.

"Mostly just to welcome me and that we have a lot of hard work, important work to tackle," he said. Ohio Republican Sen. George Voinovich, he said, noted that "the decisions that are going to be made in the next year and a half might be some of the most important decisions that are made for this country and that we really need to focus.."
