Jeff Garcia picks a winner

Miami political consultant Jeff Garcia's biggest-name clients in Florida in recent years have been losers: Elaine Bloom for Congress, Betty Castor for U.S. Senate, Raul Martinez for Congress.

547px-Annise_Parker-228x250 But the Democratic strategist picked a winner this time, helping to elect the first openly gay or lesbian mayor of a major American city. Of Anise Parker's election Saturday as mayor of Houston: Garcia said, "It's beginning to sink in that history was made."

Now Garcia's firm of Rindy Miller Garcia Media is working on ads for the Democratic frontrunner for U.S. Rep. Robert Wexler's seat in Congress, state Sen .Ted Deutch.
