The Florida National Organization for Women will host a protest outside Bill Nelson's West Palm Beach office Saturday to oppose a provision in the House health care bill that restricts abortion coverage. The provision is not in the Senate version and Florida NOW wants to keep it that way.
“We cannot allow women’s health to be
held hostage to the far right," said Florida NOW president Donna Slutiak. "The final health care bill must not have
this unfair language or anything similar in it."
The group says the House provision -- known as the Stupak-Pitts amendment -- would prevent government and private insurers from paying for abortions. It's calling on Nelson to help keep the provision out of the Senate bill.

Democrats for Life of America supports the Stupak-Pitts Amendment.
