Marco Rubio goes for laughs -- at DC's snowstorm and Obama's teleprompter

Marco Rubio and his call for less taxes slayed them at the CPAC convention today in DC -- but he also had them laughing. His opening gig managed to poke fun at last week's Snowmaggedon in DC and President Barack Obama's use of a teleprompter.

"You know, a week ago we didn't know we were going to make it here," Rubio told the crowd. "We were watching all the images of that winter weather, the extraordinary blizzard that even impacted government.

"I don't know if you know this, but the Congress couldn't meet to vote on bills," he said. "The regulatory agencies couldn't meet to set any regulations, either. And the president couldn't find anywhere to set up a teleprompter to announce new taxes. You know, now that I come to think of it, the blizzard may be the best thing to happen to the American economy in 12 months."

Rubio's prepared remarks didn't include a teleprompter crack -- but he may have been prompted by David Keene, head of the American Conservative Union, who motioned to the teleprompters at the stage, calling them "Barack Obama" honorary teleprompters.

Go Marco Go! The new champion of the little people. It is time we have someone listen to us, act for us. He comes to us with great credentials. Get on board, get out of the way and run independent or something Charlie. Money will not matter. The peoples movement is taking over. Legislature...wake up too. We are watching how you act and you can be replaced this November too!
