Sansom schedules a field trip to ground zero of controversy

Rep. Ray Sansom wants the special committee investigating his dealings with a Panhandle college to visit the airport site in Destin where a controversial emergency operations center was to be built. Sansom's lawyer filed the motion today.

Sansom said the building would serve an education and emergency response purpose; investigators say it was a hangar that would also benefit Jay Odom's corporate jet business. The House is to begin the disciplinary hearing on Monday.

What? And actually have someone go look at the dang thing? Willie Meggs, the State Attorney, never has. Hmmm . . . maybe that's a good idea for him, too.
