Sansom's case is a go -- on Monday

Rep. Bill Galvano, chairman of the special committee investigating Ray Sansom, just announced that the hearing will begin Monday, as scheduled, a sign a deal has not been worked out.

Galvano said he hopes the matter could be wrapped up in a couple days. Jay Odom and Bob Richburg have notified the panel that they will not agree to testify, citing the criminal case surrounding Sansom's dealings with Northwest Florida State College. As a result, Galvano withdrew subpoenas for the men.

The hearing will begin at 10 a.m. Monday and run until 6 p.m., same on Tuesday. There would be no testimony Wednesday, so staff can prepare documents, and then the trial would resume Thursday and Friday, if necessary.
