CFO Alex Sink wants Attorney General Bill McCollum, one of her opponents for governor, to investigate fraud at the bank where she was a longtime exec.
In a letter to McCollum, Sink -- former head of Bank of America in Florida -- asks McCollum to look into whether the alleged fraud by top Bank of America execs resulted in losses to Floridians. Her request comes on the heels of the New York Attorney General fraud suit against Bank of America and their top-level leaders.
“I applaud Attorney General Cuomo for his aggressive actions on behalf of New Yorkers, and it begs the question whether Florida can pursue similar legal action on behalf of our taxpayers and consumers,” CFO Sink wrote. “If former top executives at Bank of America committed the fraud outlined in Attorney General Cuomo’s suit, those executives must be held accountable not only to the people of New York, but also to the people of Florida.”
Sink's letter also repeats her call for the State Board of Administration to pursue lawsuits against Bank of America and other banks if they misled Florida’s pension fund.

Brilliant move. Should help Gelber if he wants to jump on the bandwagon.

It seems that the pols are playing games with all of this fraud without really pulling the trigger on the banks themselves. Finally, a Florida attorney is collecting information on fraudulent foreclosures and victims! The government obviously is not going to bring these criminals to justice, so we need to do it ourselves. Victims need to go to http://www.fraudforeclosure.com and tell their story!
