Bill Clinton keeps shaking trees for Meek

If U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek of Miami defies the odds and is elected Florida's next U.S. Senator, perhaps the first person he should thank on Election Night is former President Bill Clinton, who hosted five fundraisers for him in 2009.

Today, one week before the deadline for the first fundraising quarter of 2010, Clinton is sending out a fundraising e-mail on Meek's behalf.

"Republican infighting has given him an opportunity to win that is better than ever, but fundraising numbers from this first quarter will show the pundits whether Kendrick can take advantage of it,'' Clinton says.
