George LeMieux at the White House to talk energy

The Florida Republican will be among a group of senators at the White House talking energy today with President Barack Obama, Energy Secretary Steven Chu, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack and EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson.

The Hill notes the invite list includes the chairs of the energy committees and a number of senators "who have expressed reservations over the cap-and-trade legislation to address climate change that has stalled in the Senate."

LeMieux has said he'd need to review the bill; unlike his predecessor, Mel Martinez, he's said he's not opposed to drilling for oil and gas off Florida's coast -- if the state gets a cut of the proceeds.
