PolitiFact Florida fact-checks Crist's speech

PolitiFact Florida, a project of the St. Petersburg Times and Miami Herald, is sorting out the truth in PolitifactFloridaLogo copy state politics. On Tuesday night, the team fact-checked Gov. Charlie Crist's final State of the State address. We published three items and plan more today, so check back with us. Here's what we've rated so far:

* "We worked together to enact ... the largest tax cut in Florida history." Ruling: False.

* "Due to ... tax cuts and lower (property) values, 2009 property taxes were almost $3 billion below 2007 property taxes." Ruling: True.

* "We are now seeing a decrease in violent crime." Ruling: True.
