Hint: They're not in the Final Four.
"The colleges and universities competing in this year's NCAA men's basketball tournament aren't simply hardwood powerhouses. Most are also significant players in the Washington, D.C., lobbying arena, according to a Center for Responsive Politics analysis.
"Schools competing in the tournament spent more than $12 million on federal lobbying efforts last year, pursuing such issues as research funding, financial aid and infrastructure improvements."
