Broward School Board member draws first challenger in more than a decade

Bob Parks, who was first elected to the Broward School Board 24 years ago, has drawn an opponent for August's election.

Nora Rupert filed Monday to run against Parks, who last faced a challenger in 1998. Rupert, of Coconut Creek, applied for a vacancy on the board in 2006, when the late Carole Andrews resigned. Then-Gov. Jeb Bush picked Al Jones.

Parks, of Pompano Beach, filed for reelection in February to continue representing the Northeast Broward district that also includes Deerfield Beach. He will be one of probably five incumbents on the crowded ballot, if Kevin Tynan files to run as he has said he will.

Nora, you've got my vote! This man is too deeply entrenched and it is TIME FOR CHANGE!

Great news Nora!

You have my support!

You have my word that I will encourage ALL of my contacts and networks in and throughout your district to VOTE ABSENTEE OR go out and VOTE ---- FOR NORA RUPERT!

You have my prayers for TOTAL, POWERFUL, OVERWHELMING VICTORY AGAINST ANY and ALL OTHER opponents.

Change is needed NOW!

You are the winner; and, as the late Dr. Michael Jackson sang in his "Man in the Mirror": "MAKE THAT CHANGE!

MAKE THAT CHANGE for all students and parents and communities throughout Broward County!

MAKE THAT CHANGE for all students and parents and communities throughout your district!

MAKE THAT CHANGE FROM cesspool politics. Fight to drain that cesspool, reveal the slime for what it is, and clean up and out, ALL of it!

MAKE THAT CHANGE: NOW MORE THAN EVER!
