Gov. Charlie Crist, in a letter responding to state Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink's concerns about the scandal at the Republican Party of Florida, said the brouhaha should be examined by the "U.S. Attorney's Office due to the potential IRS implications."
Now who is the de facto head of the party? Oh yeah, that'd be Crist. Who rebuffed repeated calls to appoint an investigator to look into RPOF? That'd be Crist.
Who's campaigning against corruption and is mentioning indicted former House Speaker Ray Sansom on the campaign trail? That'd be Crist. Who initially refused to call for an investigation into Sansom? That'd be Crist.
Republicans have had quite a host of scandals in Florida in the past year: Ray Sansom, Alan Mendelsohn, Scott Rothstein and now the matter involving former Chairman Jim Greer.
