Tab rising in Geller-Gunzburger battle

Retired state legislator Steve Geller had a big fundraising quarter in his battle to unseat County Commissioner Sue Gunzburger. He raised more than $80,000 -- about $56,000 for his county campaign account and $30,000 for a committee he controls, Floridians for a Stronger Tomorrow. Unlike donations to his county campaign, donors to his committee do not have to abide by a $500 limit, allowing him to get thousands of dollars in contributions from gaming interests.

Gunzburger had her slowest quarter so far raising about $14,000 for the first three months of the year.

Gunzburger has raised $243,956 and loaned her campaign $10,000. Geller has raised $145,857 in his county campaign account and $236,155 for his committee though about $25,000 of the committee money was spent in 2008.
