Bill Nelson asks Crist for special session and a drilling ban

Bill Nelson is urging Gov. Charlie Crist to call a special session to consider a constitutional ban on oil drilling in the waters immediately off Florida’s coast. Nelson wants the issue on the ballot this November.

In a letter to Crist, Nelson says "there simply isn't enough oil in the eastern Gulf to justify the enormous risks from a blowout, spill or shipping accident to our tourism-driven economy..."
