Crist appoints Fernandez to 11th Circuit

Gov. Charlie Crist today announced he is appointing Miami-Dade Judge Jose L. Fernandez to the 11th Judicial Circuit Court. Fernandez, 45, has served as a county judge since 2007. Previously, he was general counsel for the Professional Law Enforcement Association and was a private attorney. He was also an assistant state attorney for Miami from 1989-93.

He earned both his undergraduate and law degrees at the University of Miami. Fernandez fills the vacancy created by retiring judge Norman S. Gerstein.
