Rick Scott highlights support of AZ immigration law

Trying to position himself to the right of Bill McCollum in the GOP gubernatorial primary, Rick Scott is buying radio spots highlighting his support of the Arizona immigration law. In the ad, Scott says, "... For years Washington has limited local police ability to enforce immigration laws. Now Arizona is changing that, and Florida should too. If someone gets stopped for speeding or arrested for robbery, the police should be allowed to determine if they are here legally."

Several days ago, McCollum said Arizona has unique problems, adding "I don't think Florida should enact laws like this -- quite that far out."

I totally agree with Rick Scott. We Floridians need to set laws exactly like Arizona has concerning illegal immigration. It is NOT profiling in any way, shape or form! It's our right as American citizens to be have our borders protected. We not only need to go back to our founding forefathers way of thinking, but we MUST FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THEM AS WELL! God Bless America and her citizens!

Rick Scott has no business trying to run a state when he couldn't even pay attention to the Medicare FRAUD his company was engaged in. Seems to me, his track record suggests that Florida will go bankrupt and end up giving out more IOUs and furloughs than EVER!!

Arizona's law is stupid. Anyone who agrees with it is also stupid. Just sayin'

Daniel has a good point too.

I always believed that this country originated from people that migrated from other countries. Are they not immigrants? Our founding forefathers were immigrants... say it isnt so!! In school, I learned that early Americans fought their way into someone elses land. Is that misinformation? Darn, if those American Indians had as strict immigration laws back then, where would we be now? Rick Scott is as LAME as thumper, who is equally as LAME as Rubio who wants to raise the retirement age of others

What in Florida? That will never happen. Check the business report for Arizona. You want to loose business. I agree with Daniel

" early Americans fought their way into someone elses land. Is that misinformation? Darn, if those American Indians had as strict immigration laws back then, where would we be now? "

So many people in prison, over crowded. We pay so much taxes so murderers, Rapists, Pedophile will live another day. WTF! Get rid of people in death roll already. Obliviously the Arizona law makers does not care about people's feelings. So be it. I agree with improving the borders, however the immigrants that have been here for over 10 years and have no life in their own country should pay a fine and do community service like clean up the oil in the gulf. It would help everyone. You would improve the environment, the government would make money off of the immigrants.

" If someone gets stopped for speeding or arrested for robbery, the police should be allowed to determine if they are here legally."

Just get rid of everybody in prison. Your saying that an American Murderer is not as bad as an immigrant murderer? An immigrant rapist rapes better than an American rapist?...
They are all the same, Scum!

By sending people back after a century of living here in the united states is the same as drafting people to fight in wars.

Florida needs this law and is long overdue. Send ICE to Key West first, please!!!!!!!!!
Rick Scott help Florida enforce deportation!!!

Matt

This country is NOTHING without immigrants. Lazy americans are unemployed because construction, landscaping or hotel room service are jobs not suitable for their ego. So screw Rick Scott and all of you with him!

These laws might really scare immigrants away from Florida. I mean, they would always prefer places or states with laws that protect and encourage them to stay. We must not forget how valuable immigrants to the state.
