President Obama again calls for Gainesville pastor to drop plans to burn Quran

"The idea we would burn the sacred text of someone else's religion is contrary to what this nation was founded on," Obama said during a Friday morning press conference.

"I hope this individual prays on it, refrains from doing it," he said.

And he defended having the military call the Gainesville pastor: "We have an obligation to send a very clear message...these kind of actions put our troops in harms way ... and serves as a recruiting tool for Al Quaida."

The president makes a good point. Such an act would only create more tension and bring the man down to the level of the very people he opposes. As they say two wrongs don't make a right!
