The retiring Connecticut Democrat traveled to Cuba over the weekend and is to meeting with Cuban government officials to discuss U.S. - Cuba relations.
"Throughout his career, Dodd has been an outspoken critic of the United States embargo against Cuba and America’s failed policy towards the island,' his office said. "Recently, he has been an original co-sponsor of the Freedom to Travel to Cuba Act, which would lift travel restrictions on all Americans wishing to travel to Cuba. During his trip Dodd intends to discuss ways that the United States and Cuba can improve bi-lateral relations."

I hope Mr. Dodd has the fortitude and backbone to ask to talk to real Cubans and to ask to see Castro's political prisoners. Our country is better off without Castro apologists like him in the Senate.
