National Democrats hoping to stem a GOP tide are spending money on three races in Florida -- where Republicans hope to pick up as many as four seats.
According to FEC filings late Tuesday, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee purchased $776,000 to benefit Joe Garcia, running against Republican David Rivera for the Miami area seat vacated by Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart. Hotline notes that Dems -- who dropped $21.6 million in 66 districts -- are on the offensive in just three of the districts.
Also getting party backing: Rep. Ron Klein, facing a tough challenge from Allen West. The DCCC put up $315,840 to oppose West and $170,422 to help imperiled North Florida Democrat Allen Boyd.
